Empowering our Customers to focus exclusively on exceptional care
This release focuses on resolving specific issues that could interrupt scheduling, authorization management, and day‑to‑day workflows. The changes below address and improve behavior across multiple functions.
New: Authorization Utilization Tracking (Next Iteration)
This release continues our ongoing improvements to how Boost handles authorizations, with a focus on better visibility, accuracy, and operational control. Two weeks ago, we introduced visible connection of an authorization to an appointment or appointment series. Building on that foundation, this release adds clear, explicit tracking of how each authorization is utilized.
What’s included:
- End-to-end visibility into authorization utilization for every stage of its life cycle:
- Authorized
- Scheduled
- Completed
- Billed (insurance only)
- Billed status currently reflects insurance billing only. Tracking for invoiced, paid, or payment-requested statuses will be added once invoicing is released.
Where you can view it:
- Scheduling:
- Authorization utilization is available from the appointment edit screen after an appointment or appointment series has been created.
- Authorization utilization is available from the appointment edit screen after an appointment or appointment series has been created.
- Authorizations:
- Navigate to the Authorizations page.
- Expand any authorization to view detailed utilization metrics.
- Utilization metrics are available for every authorization in the platform.
Notes:
- Utilization data becomes available only after an appointment or appointment series exists.
- This release focuses on visibility and tracking; enforcement logic and expanded billing and invoicing statuses will continue to roll out in future updates.
To ensure each user experiences all updates, they should empty cache and hard reload at their next login. Below are steps to do this:
- Log into Boost
- Right click anywhere on the application screen and select “Inspect”
- Then, right click on your browser window to refresh, and select Empty Cache Hard Reload.
- Click “Close” in the upper right-hand corner of the Inspect panel (this panel that popped up on the right)
- Now your screen should be back to its original state and refreshed to show the new updates!
- Resolved an issue where editing certain recurring appointments (particularly those without an end date) could cause the scheduler to become unresponsive.
- Improved appointment loading times when viewing calendars filtered by facility, especially for practices with higher appointment volume.
- Fixed cases where cancelled appointments within a series could not be deleted or continued to appear incorrectly.
- Corrected calendar cancellation filters so that filtering a single cancelled appointment no longer surfaces the entire series.
- Added a required reminder to select a cancellation reason before submitting a cancellation.
- Addressed inconsistencies where calendar start times (ex: 8:00 am views) could vary across environments.
- Fixed edge cases that prevented creating appointment blocks when time ranges overlapped on different dates.
- Corrected time and date handling for sessions, so actual start and end times reflect the intended facility time, not the user’s local device time.
- Fixed issues where session signatures (caregiver or supervisor) displayed an incorrect session date.
- Resolved cases where completed session end dates could not be edited, even when changes were allowed.
- Ensured appointment notes respect user permissions and display on the correct appointment.
- Fixed issues preventing interaction with file upload controls when generating PDF session notes.
- Improved behavior on the appointment details panel, so it updates correctly when switching between appointments (instead of staying on the last selected tab/content).
- Resolved an issue where editing an authorization could fail silently and result in duplicate authorizations being created.
- Fixed cases where payors or service codes could not be saved correctly on authorizations.
- Corrected behavior that prevented updating effective end dates for assigned case managers.
- Ensured expired authorizations (within the expected window) appear correctly in “Needs Attention” views.
- Improved stability when creating new authorizations to prevent console errors during patient or insurance selection.
- Resolved cases where guardian contact information could duplicate or fail to display certain funding sources.
- Fixed minor labeling and typographical issues across reports, funding sources, manually entered prospects, and certification views.
- Added support for capturing service type on service codes to better reflect billing and reporting needs.
- Ensured appointment types display as read‑only when appropriate (such as for group appointments).
- Improved reliability of non‑billable appointment edits, so appointment type selections are preserved.
What This Means for You
These updates are intended to reduce interruptions, eliminate confusing edge‑case behavior, and ensure the system responds consistently to common scheduling and authorization actions. You should notice fewer blocked workflows, more accurate dates and times, and greater confidence that changes are saved and reflected correctly.
Recommended Post‑Release Steps
